Adding windows
To solve the shortage of windows in the rooms, light spots in the form of a window are added. This installation has a limited scope, yet it has something poetic about it. Playing with light is something that often happens in contemporary art. These light spots can take different forms depending on the artists. Adding light has a positive effect on the visitor / user of the space. Because the light spot (which is very similar to the light from the sun) does not change place (something that a real sun spot does), this spot provides a certain form of rest in the room. If the sun stain is made by means of a slide projector, the monotome zooming also contributes to the peace in the room. The slide projector humming is almost meditative. In this instalation, a combination is made between working with light and shadow and the theme of repetition. Repeating the window with the slide projectors creates a harmonious whole. This procedure also draws your attention to simple things. A sunspot that falls on the floor or wall or the light that enters through the door hole, all these elements are caught in this procedure. The element of time is also strongly experienced in this intervention. Because the light spot does not move any sense of time is lost, it is as if time stands still…
